Bulugh Al Maraam: The Fiqh of Prayer

Join us every Sunday as part of Seminary Sundays as we study the Fiqh of Prayer from Bulugh al-Marām, one of the most trusted collections of hadith on Islamic law compiled by the great scholar Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī. This program will take students through the evidences and rulings that govern Ṣalāh — from purification and the conditions of prayer to its pillars, obligatory acts, and sunnahs — building a firm, evidence-based understanding of one of the most important acts of worship in Islam.

This class is designed to move beyond simply memorizing rulings. Together, we will study the hadith themselves, understand how the scholars derived their conclusions, and explore the wisdom behind the rulings of prayer. Students will come away not only knowing what to do in Ṣalāh, but why — grounded directly in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.
