Join Anderson’s Bookshop for an author event with Nigel Ng (a.k.a Uncle Roger), to celebrate the release of Don't Mess Up Your Rice: 70 Recipes to Impress Uncle Roger, on Wednesday, November 4th at 7:00 pm at the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove. Ng will be in conversation with chef and storyteller Adam Witt.

Event Format

We will begin checking you in approximately 60 minutes before the start time. This event will consist of a moderated conversation and audience Q&A with the author. There will be no photo or signing line to follow.

About the Author: 

Nigel Ng, also known as Uncle Roger, is a Malaysian comedian, restaurateur, and international star with a massive social media following of more than thirty-one million across platforms. His viral character, Uncle Roger, rose to fame by hilariously critiquing Western chefs’ (most famously, Jamie Oliver’s) attempts at Asian cuisine, and went on to captivate audiences worldwide. Since then, Nigel’s opened two restaurant concepts, FUIYOH! It’s Uncle Roger in Malaysia, and Kawan by Uncle Roger in London. His stand-up special—which he toured for over 100,000 people across multiple countries—is available on Hulu. Nigel lives in Los Angeles.

About the Conversation Partner: 

Adam Witt is a Chicago-based cook and food storyteller. Drawing on his background as a private chef, he produces meticulously crafted cooking videos that pair professional technique with culinary history, tracing how dishes from tater tots to Chicago deep dish came to be.
